"Out of context"?

Postby gilman » Fri May 25, 2007 1:16 am

Can you explain what you mean by the disclaimer you've placed on the description page as follows?:

"*It is important to note that a few of the actions are taken out of scriptural context."

Could you give examples of what you mean by this, so we have a better idea of what the add-on entails?

Thanks!

hi gilman,

for example, in isaiah chapter 7, we find the following passage:

8 In that day the LORD will whistle for flies from the distant streams of Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria. 19 They will all come and settle in the steep ravines and in the crevices in the rocks, on all the thornbushes and at all the water holes. 20 In that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the River [f] —the king of Assyria—to shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to take off your beards also.

now obviously there isn't anything romantic or sexual about the verse i bolded.... but i do use that verse out of context to provide an opportunity for one partner to shave the other in the game.

there are a few other actions for which i took similar liberties.
