timer quit working

Postby momminy » Tue May 09, 2006 6:47 pm

We've had Bliss for about 6 months now. We love the game! It's a lot of fun to play. I would recommend anyone who buys this game to get the action editor as well, this gives so much more personalization capabilities!! However, last time we played the game, the timer would not work. When an action requiring a timer came up, the timer would open, but not count down. We closed it down and started it up again several times, but the same thing happened. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the game.

The timer can fail to work for one of two reasons. The most common reason is that the latest version of the .NET framework is not installed. However, since it was working on this computer once and the quit working, that would seem unlikely.

The second reason is that the game timer is based on a Windows timer internally. Sometimes, all of the Windows timers can be used by other applications. In that case, a reboot will generally solve the problem.

So I think I would try the following:

1. Power down the machine.

If that doesn't help then:

2. Download .NET 1.1 Service Pack 1 from Microsoft.

If that still doesn't work

3. Uninstall, redownload and reinstall Bliss.

Let me know if this takes care of it.

Thanks,

Don
