1.5 Upgrade Error

Postby oThere3 » Mon Aug 28, 2006 6:11 pm

When running the 1.5 upgrade file I received an error.

It said something like the game must have already been updated by other means and so this patch cannot be used to update it.

Upon hitting "Ignore", the upgrade seemed to continue without further incident.

But now when I try to start the program itself, it begins by saying it is configuring Bliss and then I get an error saying that it is "trying to use an Internet Resource that is unavailable...enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package WISD7D99A27......."

I can't even use my 1.4 version anymore.

Any suggestions? If I uninstall Bliss, and download the entire 1.5, will my 1.4 license key work?

Thanks

Yep, same thing happened to me. It says error 1328 error applying patch to file C:config.msi\pt4303.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means and can no longer be modified by this patch.

I got 1.5 working.

These are the steps I took...

1) I copied the two license files (Board and ActionEditor) to the desktop.

2) I uninstalled Bliss

3) I downloaded and installed the full 1.5 version

4) I moved the license files from my desktop to the new installation.

It works now...and my old profiles are still there too!

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry about the upgrade error, there was a problem in the upgrade file and I have replaced it with another one.

If you have already installed the faulty version, you will need to uninstall Bliss and reinstall the new full version, sorry for the inconvenience.

Your old licenses keys will work with the new version and uninstalling the old version should leave the license keys intact, you shouldn't even need to copy the license keys, but it never hurts to back them up.

Sorry for the problem and thanks for reporting it.

Thanks,

Don

I've installed the trial, but I got the upgrade error. If I delete it and reinstall, what will that do to the trial? will I still be able to "try before I buy"?

The trial period for 1.5 is independent of the method used to install it and it is also independent of any previous trials you may have had for earlier versions.

Once the game is installed and running, you will receive your full trial period on this version.

Thanks,

so if I've installed it (or tried to, I got the error) but not played it, I should uninstall it, reinstall it, and start the whole thing over again?

mbn,

I am sorry, but that is probably your best option.

not a problem, but I know sometimes that uninstalling somethign can do undesireable to any trial periods. I'll let you know if I have any problems.
