security execption

Postby rkaiser108 » Thu Jan 19, 2006 6:58 pm

am getting an error code:

system security. security: request failed
at bliss.board.()
at bliss.board..ctor()
at bliss.board.(string)

I previously downloaded the demo, on Sunday 15th, and it loaded fine after I downloaded .net and I went through one sample run to see if it worked.

I got this error, so I uninstalled the game and redownloaded the demo and am still getting the error. What can I do to get rid of this error, My wife and I are interested in sampling this software this weekend.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It sound like your .net security settings are overly restrictive. I would try doing the following:

1. Open the control panel. Switch to Classic View if necessary.
2. Double Click on Administrative tools.
3. Double Click on Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Wizards (not Configuration)
4. Click on "Trust an Assembly" A dialog should appear.
5. Select "Make Changes to this Computer" and push Next.
6. Click on the Browse button and browse to c:/program files/Games for Loving/Bliss/Bliss.exe and press Open
7. Press Next
8. Select "This One Assembly" and press Next
9. Set the slider to "Full Trust" and press Next
10. Press Finish

This should fix the problem. Please let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks,

i tried what you said and got an even bigger error code. Too mush to write. Could the .net not be installed properly?

The problem could be a number of things.

.NET could be installed improperly, the game download could have been corrupted somehow, windows could have a problem itself.

What version of windows are you running? That could make a difference.

If it is not too much trouble, you could run the game so that you get the error message, then hold down Alt and press the Prnt Scrn button on your keyboard. That will copy a picture of your screen to your clipboard. You can then run Paint and paste the picture into a new .jpg file and email the file to me. That will let me see what your screen looked like and I can examine the error message.

sales@gamesforloving.com should have been fine, or you can use don@gamesforloving.com

What kind of a failure did you get?

OK, I got it this time.

This looks like a pure security issue. Now however, it looks like there are other files that are not being trusted.

Here is something you can try.

Follow steps 1-3 of the prevous procedure.
4. Click on "Adjust .NET Security"
5. Choose Make changes to this Computer and press Next
6. Click on My Computer at the top of the window.
7. Move the slider up to Full Trust.
8. Press Next then Finish.

This should fix this. If it does not, you can repeat the procedure that i described in my previous post, but instead of telling the system to trust bliss.exe, tell it to trust each of the .dll files in the same directory.

Finally, I would STRONGLY suggest you get on SP2. It shouldn't matter that much for the game, but SP1 has a lot of problems that are fixed in SP2, particluarly security issues.

Thanks,

Don
