Working together, rather than faux competing

Would love to see game play where we work together as a couple, rather than faux competing with each other. For me, the quasi competition of the gameplay just kind of contradicts the intended unifying aspect of the game. The me against you metaphor just doesn't seem as consistent with the game's intent as would a metaphor that has us working together.
