iPhone port?

Postby scrosland » Sun Dec 27, 2009 12:17 pm

Hello Don,

I know that you have looked at PDA platforms in the past and found them too hard to support, but I wondered if you had looked into an iPhone port? The app store has various couples games in it but they are all pretty much of the "sexy dice" type and not at all like Bliss. Given there are rumors of an Apple tablet coming out soon as well, this could be an interesting market segment.

Thanks,
Simon

I'm just guessing, but since Don has mentioned before that he wants to move to only supporting the java version of Bliss, I would guess a port to Android phones would be more likely since java is the native language and the code wouldn't have to be ported to iphone's objective c.

Given the current rate of updates for Bliss, though, I'm not sure I would hope for anything soon.

It is unfortunate that Apple has chosen to to support or even allow Java on the iPhone.

We are working on version 1.6, which will be an all Java version of Bliss both on the PC and other platforms.

It is my hope that Java support will eventualy be present on the iPhone.

THanks,

Don

I'd be seriosuly intersted in an android port for some of the Android based phones.
With the android support for java (in some shame) I would hope this is a more likely smartphone port?

see http://developer.android.com/reference/ ... mmary.html

What do you think Don?
