This method will allow you to installed Java 6, which I just did under Venture - Mac OS 13.2.1. Worked great after a little fiddling to learn how to use the Script Editor - but not hard.
Then, you have to direct Bliss to start using that version. That's also doable, see

Right-click on that (on a Mac), and you can open it, then drill down into the sub-folders there. You'll eventually find 'Bliss.jar' which is the file you pass in this command (which I had to enter in Terminal):
/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.6.0 --exec java -jar (full path of the Bliss.jar - which is buried inside the 'Bliss.app' folder).
